Swims After Eating — Lazarette Piece (UNYC Member Portrait)
Unnamed Yacht Club
The Unnamed Yacht Club is a collection of 12 member portraits made from memories, mementos, and imagery. Photography, graphic design, fiber arts, and woodwork come together to introduce you to people you already know.
The vibe is relaxed. The finish has patina. The members are unapologetically themselves — most certainly flawed, and always patting the seat next to them for you to join in.

The Lazarette Piece
The lazarette is the locker that runs across the transom — the stern of the boat. It’s where the cushions live between sails. These pieces come home from the water.
Each UNYC portrait begins with photography. Ashley Lippincott deconstructs the image and rebuilds it through graphic design, creating the coastal pop art composition you see here. That design is then digitized and embroidered directly onto Sunbrella — the marine canvas of choice, sourced through the Newport, RI marine canvas tradition Ashley’s husband works in.
The piece is then sewn exactly as a boat cushion would be: with a contrasting welt cord, boxing, and foam — and upholstered to a wood panel for hanging. The result is a portrait that belongs on a wall but remembers the water.
This portrait features his signature floral swim trunks — white and blue flowers on red, with a yellow drawstring — embroidered on red Sunbrella with a white welt cord. Signed sEA in the corner.
18 × 24 inches. Signed and dated on verso by Ashley Lippincott, 2026.
The Bag Is Also Art
This piece arrives in its own custom coastal pop art tote — white canvas with a red base, canvas straps with tan leather tabs, and a Lippincott’s leather patch. The front carries the sEA monogram in blue, The Original 1, and Good Standing in red. The back features the piece’s defining badge: “wait 30 minutes.”
The bag is not packaging. It is part of the work.
